Okay, so in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’ve decided to give any readers a chance to solve world hunger, cure cancer , treat sick children, teach kids to read, save the rainforest and rescue animals. You know, because I was feeling charitable and all. Sometimes the littlest things can make a difference in your day, and until I can change the world, this helps me feel like I’m still trying, and haven’t completely given up hope.
I like to think I’m a fairly optimistic person. I generally trust people unless proven wrong, I believe in true love, I think that having Democrats in Congress will make a difference, etc. Sometimes something as simple as someone giving up their seat on the subway for me restores my faith in humanity. New York is a tough place to maintain this attitude, as one of my favorite snippets of advice suggests, “Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard.” It hasn’t happened yet.
