A Very Vegas New Year (Part Three)

Luxor.jpgFollowing my New Years kiss with Canada, Showgirl and Feather decided to go home with their significant others leaving me, Rhinestone, Canada and Neighbor. Canada was dying to go dancing, so we headed downstairs to Forty Deuce. I was afraid we would have a tough time getting in, but we sent Rhinestone up to the bouncer and were instantly ushered in without paying a cover (a perk of being a “local” in Vegas).

You know those couples who make out in the middle of the dance floor, completely oblivious to the fact that they are bumping into and annoying the hell out of the people around them? That was us. The problem is, as much as those people suck, when it’s you the rest of the room disappears.

After about an hour of dancing and drinks, we left Neighbor and Rhinestone for somewhere more private. The guys were staying at the Luxor, which was conveniently located next door, so Canada and I headed back to their room. We had been making out for about five minutes when the door opened and Neighbor and Rhinestone interrupted us. We all smiled awkwardly at each other for about a minute before someone shut off the light.

I glanced over at the other bed, looked at Canada, and said “I’m sorry, this is too weird. I can’t be in the same room.” Taking one for the team, I walked into the bathroom (Why do I always end up in the bathroom?!), and he followed, dragging a comforter and two pillows with him. It turns out that bathrooms can be quite romantic with the right guy, if you two can manage to joke about it.

As we were kissing he kept saying, “We’ll have to do this again next weekend. You’ll fly to Canada, and then I’ll come down to New York.” Coming from an intoxicated guy from out of town on New Years, I took this with a grain of salt and said, “Yeah, sure.” When we finally felt like we could go back into the bedroom without being invasive, we were dying from exhaustion and fell fast asleep.

Rhinestone woke up first and dragged me out of bed, with Canada protesting every step of the way not to leave him. He mentioned that he had family in New York that he may visit, so I left him my phone number and email to look me up. Then Rhinestone and I stumbled into the hallway in our dresses and smudged make up to giggle over what I like to call our “walk of pride” together, and passing a girl in the hallway who could barely see straight. We jumped in a cab with a very amused driver and headed to Rhinestone’s car.
