Misery Loves Insanity

Party%20favors.jpgSometimes nothing feels better than a night of complete nonsense. I met my best gay guy friend for dinner last night at the restaurant where he works. We had equal dating horror stories to spill about the last few weeks.

It’s true what they say about misery loving company. As we vented about our disappointments, and the other voiced equal reactions at all the right points, we took comfort in the fact that our experiences were just part of the whole ritual.

But, what had us both grinning minutes later was even better for our temperament. One of the other servers had just finished waiting on a young girl’s birthday party and brought the leftover favors over for our entertainment.

We took turns taking camera phone pictures in silly glasses and glow-stick jewelry, and all troubles were soon forgotten. The staff started stopping by our table to join in our fun, and soon the entire room had the feel of a playground.

Nothing feels better than completely letting your guard down and acting ridiculous. It’s such a refreshing change from trying to put your best face forward.
