I’m obviously slightly biased, as I’m posting this on Christmas and all, but I really just like the idea of a day devoted to celebrating the possibility of miracles. I’m not talking about religion, or necessarily divine intervention, but the amazing pieces of life that we can easily overlook.
The parents who go above and beyond to do something special for their child, and the way that child’s eyes light up when they realize their dreams have just come true.
Friends or even strangers who get together, from a family holiday party to an evening at your local bar, simply because the experience of sharing the day together is better than going through anything alone.
The thankless job of a good hostess, a smile from someone stuck working in the mall on a busy shopping day, or a family that opens their home to you so that you can be closer to your own.
No matter what we believe, I love any excuse to bring out the best in all of us.
For a slightly less sentimental holiday wish, and a last minute shopping idea for any of you guys out there, read more…
